# Quizel

> Quizel is an iOS and iPadOS study app that uses AI to turn your own notes, PDFs and photos into multiple-choice quizzes and flashcards. It adds a daily study streak, an exam-readiness score and Voice Mode, an AI study coach you talk to about your material. Made by Vincent Tietze (Germany). ## Key facts

- Platforms: iPhone and iPad, iOS/iPadOS 17 or later. Voice Mode requires iOS 26 or later. There is no Android or web version.
- App languages: English, German, French, Italian, Korean, Hindi.
- No account or login. Quizzes, flashcards, progress, streak and optional Voice recaps are stored on the device.
- Input: pasted notes, readable (text) PDFs, text files, photos and a document scanner (up to eight pages). Text in photos is recognised on the device.
- Output: multiple-choice quizzes with an explanation after every answer, or flashcards (reveal, then rate yourself). 5 to 40 questions or cards per set.
- Study features: first-launch onboarding builds a study plan from three questions (subject, goal, hurdles) with an optional daily reminder; a daily study streak (a day counts when you answer a quiz question or rate a flashcard); exam readiness per study item, confirmed across different days.
- Voice Mode (new in version 1.0.8): talk to an AI study coach about study items you select. Four modes: Quiz me, Explain, Teach it back (Feynman method) and Oral exam. You talk to an AI, not a human. Available to eligible adults (18+ in Germany, the UK, France, Italy and India; 19+ in South Korea; 21+ in other supported countries), gated with Apple's Declared Age Range.
- AI content can be wrong or incomplete; users should check important answers against their material.

## Pricing

- Free download. Onboarding includes a local sample question; users can prepare material before paying. Quizzes and cards already created stay usable without a subscription.
- Creating your own quizzes and flashcards requires Quizel Pro (auto-renewing, cancel in Apple Account settings):
  - Annual: EUR 39.99 per year (Germany) / USD 34.99 (US), 7-day free trial for eligible users.
  - Weekly: EUR 4.99 per week (Germany) / USD 3.99 (US), no free trial.
- Voice Mode minutes: the annual plan includes 10 minutes per subscription month and the weekly plan 5 minutes per paid week, starting after the free trial (no Voice minutes during the trial); included minutes renew and do not roll over. Extra 15- or 60-minute packs are one-time purchases and do not expire.
- Apple shows the exact local price before purchase.

## Privacy

- Source text is sent to the Quizel service (Cloudflare, AI generation via OpenRouter) only when the user taps Generate.
- In Voice Mode, the user's voice and the selected study items are sent to OpenAI during the conversation. Voice does not use zero data retention.
- No in-app ads. No IDFA and no App Tracking Transparency prompt; Apple Ads attribution uses Apple's AdServices framework via RevenueCat.
